PUNK art exhibit
As always John Holmstrom of PUNK Magazine has been busy working on various projects; these days, there's a lot of excitement about the art exhibition in his neighborhood East Village New York.
The exhibit is going on since mid May at Metropolis, the vintage clothing store where John san has been providing illustration for storefront, posters and T-shirts.
Many never-been-seen-before photos of the Ramones and punk musicians; all framed photos and illustration are on sale!

John san planned this exhibition coincide with the annual Joey Ramone Birthday Bash, so naturally there are many photos, illustration and articles of Joey all over the place.
JRBB is the annual live music event started after Joey passed away from lymphoma in 2001, and the proceeds, over 90,000 dollars so far, have been be donated to the Lymphoma Foundation. This year John san planned this exhibit as a part of JRBB weekend so that artists other than musician can participate and raise money for the foundation as well. Photographers, illustrators, many Ramones related people, a lot of artists are in the show; "We are trying to get to $100,000! ".

And Cartoon Jam with John san and other illustrators, including SVA students, created some beautiful murals!
John san said earlier that "We plan to keep the exhibition open and sell enough art and photos to make the goal", and the good news is they have done it!!
"I'm happy to say that the JRBB was able to hit the $100,000 mark!"
